what is voboard?
voboard is a voice workspace for iphone and mac. say it the way it comes out and clean text lands where you are writing, in the style and language you picked. then rework it by voice, and keep what matters in notes, snippets and history that follow your account. on iphone it is a keyboard that works in apps that allow custom keyboards. on mac it is an app, in beta, that writes into the field you are in.
is there a mac app?
yes, in beta, by invite, for macOS 15 or later. press a shortcut in the field you are writing in, speak, and the clean text is inserted there. select text to rewrite it by voice, or pick a change and read the result before it replaces anything. it never presses send. English speech is recognised on your Mac, so that audio stays there. request an invite on the mac beta page.
does it sync between my iphone and mac?
yes, when you are signed in. history, notes, your scratchpad, the words you taught it, snippets, styles and formats follow your account through our servers. audio and screenshot images are not synced. signed out on Mac, your content stays on that Mac. read the privacy policy.
why does it ask for full access?
ios keyboards can't listen on their own. full access lets the keyboard share data with the voboard app, which handles recording, and connect to our service for screenshot replies you request. basic typing and the globe key work without it. OpenAI sharing needs separate permission in the app; full access is not that permission. read the privacy policy.
what happens to my voice?
you first choose whether to allow OpenAI sharing in the app. on-device English audio stays on your iPhone; cloud audio goes to OpenAI. transcripts, text you ask to rewrite, nearby text, and style instructions go through our service to OpenAI. our servers do not log AI request bodies; saved content syncs separately. history syncs with your account, and OpenAI may retain data under its policy. you can revoke permission in settings. read the privacy policy.
can it draft a reply from a screenshot?
yes, with voboard pro. allow OpenAI sharing and the separate screenshot permission in the app first. chat text is read on your phone where possible; profiles, photos, or unreadable text may need the image instead. the text or image goes through our service to OpenAI. our servers do not log the AI request; saved history syncs separately. drafts sync with your account history, and OpenAI may retain data under its policy. either permission can be revoked in settings. read the privacy policy.
does Hinglish actually work?
yes. it's where voboard started. speak English, pick Hinglish, and the draft comes out in Hinglish. that works on the free plan (iOS 26 or later). with voboard pro you can also speak Hindi, or Hindi and English in one sentence. styles stay casual, formal, flirty, or funny. lowercase is a separate switch.
which apps does it work in?
apps that allow custom keyboards, including messages, whatsapp, mail, slack, and notes. password fields and apps that block custom keyboards use the system keyboard instead.
is voboard free?

how is this different from the built-in microphone?
the built-in mic types what you said. voboard rewrites as you speak — casual, formal, flirty, or funny, with lowercase as its own switch — and can write hinglish or hindi from mixed speech. it works in apps that support custom keyboards.
