terms

by creating an account or using voboard you agree to these terms and to the privacy page. if you do not agree, do not use it.

the service

voboard is a voice keyboard for iphone operated by rohan bojja. you speak; the app transcribes; a rewrite pass cleans the text; the keyboard inserts it. some speech is recognised on the device. with your permission, cloud speech goes directly to openai, and ai rewrites go through our proxy to openai. the keyboard uses the network only for a screenshot reply you ask for. reply to screenshot is opt-in: the text read from the screenshot, or the jpeg when that text is not enough, is forwarded through our proxy to openai for one draft. our servers do not log AI request bodies or retain screenshot images. saved account content syncs separately, and openai may retain submitted data under its api policy. details of what is sent where live on the privacy page — that page is part of these terms.

there is a free plan and a paid plan, voboard pro. free covers on-device dictation in english and the built-in styles, with a daily rewrite limit. pro is an auto-renewing subscription bought in the app through the apple app store: apple charges your apple id, the price and period are shown before you pay, and it renews at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. a free trial, where offered, turns into a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel. manage or cancel in your app store account settings; deleting your voboard account does not cancel it. refunds are handled by apple. we may change what each plan includes, and the daily limits; a price change reaches you through apple first.

who can use it

you have to be at least 13, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. one person per account. you are responsible for the email and password, or the Apple ID used to sign in, and for what is done with the account.

acceptable use

do not:

• try to unlock pro features without a subscription, or share a session token
• probe, scrape, or overload the service
• use voboard to break the law, or to send speech, text, or screenshots you have no right to process
• dictate passwords, secrets, or other people's private data into a cloud transcription
• violate openai's usage policies with what you send through the rewrite

we apply daily caps so one account cannot run away with model spend. hitting a cap is not a breach; it just means you wait until the next utc day. we may ban an account that looks like abuse.

your content

you own what you say and what you send. we need a limited licence to process it so the product can work: transcribe, rewrite, draft a reply or an opener from a screenshot you send, and insert, store, and sync the content you save while signed in. the storage licence lasts until you delete that content or your account, subject to the retention details in our privacy policy. audio and screenshot images are not stored in account sync. you are responsible for reading the draft before you send it. transcription and rewrite are probabilistic. they will be wrong sometimes.

if you send us feedback or ideas, we can use them without owing you anything. that does not cover your dictations.

the keyboard and full access

ios asks you to allow full access so the keyboard can coordinate with the app and make a screenshot-reply request you choose. with your separate screenshot-sharing permission, that request sends extracted text or the image through our service to openai. basic typing and switching keyboards work without full access. the keyboard does not read other keyboards or launch voboard; open the app yourself to start a voice session. password fields are not snapshotted for rewrite context. you can turn the keyboard off in ios settings at any time.

third parties

apple's terms cover the app store, speech recognition, and the phone. openai's terms and usage policies cover the api calls we make for you. cloudflare hosts the proxy. a failure or policy change at any of them can break dictation. we are not those companies.

the service as-is

voboard is provided as-is. we do not promise that it will be available, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose. we do not promise that a draft is safe to send. to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for anything you send after a rewrite. if we are liable anyway, the amount is what you paid us for the service in the previous three months.

changes and ending it

we can change the product, the plans, the caps, or these terms. the date at the top moves when the terms change. continued use is acceptance. we can suspend or close an account, including for a ban. you can stop using voboard and delete the account from settings, or email hello@voboard.app to delete it. how delete works is on the privacy page.

law

these terms are governed by the laws of india, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. courts in india have jurisdiction, except where a mandatory consumer law where you live says otherwise.
